training vs sick

As runners, we are particularly susceptible to illness because of the number of miles we do and the vary nature of the long weekend run. Our immune systems are always being attacked and are particularly susceptible after our long runs. This is just another reason that we need to eat well and in particular right after our long runs. This 300-600 calorie post run meal helps recover, and boosts our immune systems and helps protect us from illness.
So, what do you do when you feel like you've got a cold or have symptoms like a cold? If you follow the usual old school advice, don't run at all. Then, you will spend at least three weeks getting back into your training schedule, maybe.
