Running: Stan Chart 2011 Public Transport!

Runners heading to the three different start points for the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011 on December 4 will be able to use overnight MRT train services.

These will be on the North-South and East-West lines (NSL/EWL) as well as the Circle Line (CCL).

SMRT said a partnership between itself and the Singapore Sports Council, the organisers of the marathon, has made this possible. The overnight train services will also be available to all commuters, including late-night revellers.

The special trains will run from about 1.00am to 5.30am at 15 minute intervals.

SMRT said to minimise inconvenience to residents living around MRT tracks, travelling speed of trains will be reduced at elevated stations. The journey between each elevated station will take two minutes longer.

Orchard, Somerset, City Hall interchange, as well as HarbourFront and Esplanade stations on the Circle Line, are the closest train stations to the race venue for runners and supporters.

lets all have a GREAT race. =)
