Earlier on today, One competitor died while another was in critical condition after they ran into difficulty in the swimming phase of the Nautica New York City Triathlon.
New York City police said 64-year-old Michael Kudryk of Freehold, New Jersey, was pulled out unconscious from the Hudson River on Sunday morning and was thought to have had a heart attack.He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

To all fellow athletes, finishing strong and fast is what we desire. Finishing the race safe, injuriey-free is another. Safety should always be our top priority. Always hydrate yourself before races and also do drop out of a race if symptoms of dehydration or heart attack occurs.
